Most Common Credit Card Disputes

Most Common Credit Card Disputes - When you think of availing a credit card for the sale of convenience, then just be prepared to deal with other issues that are usually coupled with it. This card sure does offer convenience of payments or transactions, but also bring some of the issues, which may create a problem if you are not being careful enough. Following are those issues that can lead you straight to the trap of credit card debt:

Most Common Credit Card Disputes
  • Unauthorized charges or transactions appearing on the bill.
  • Transaction amount billed to the customer differing from the transaction authorized by the customer.
  • Transactions cancelled by the customer but reversals not received by the bank.
  • Transactions done on the card when the card was not in card holder’s possession.
  • Transactions billed for goods/services the customer had not accepted or were not delivered as agreed upon by the merchant.
  • Duplicate processing of a transaction due to a communication failure between the issuing bank and merchant systems.

You have 60 days from the date of the statement with the billing error, to write to your credit card company. You have to send your letter to the address listed on your credit card statement for billing errors and inquiries. An explanation is also required with proof of purchase in your letter why the billing is wrong, if that is the issue with you.
